15 Day Rajasthan Tour
Highlights:
Day 1: Arrive in Delhi
Welcome to India! On your arrival, after you collect your luggage, you will be greeted by our travel facilitator at the airport. You will then be taken in a chauffeur-driven vehicle to your hotel and assisted with your check-in. After making you comfortable, our travel facilitator will hand over your travel documents and briefly go over the next day’s program.
Day 2: Delhi
Your exploration of India will commence in Old Delhi, the citadel of the Mughal Empire between the 17th and 19th century. Visit the impressive Red Fort, built in 1648, and marvel at its imposing 1.24-mile-long red sandstone walls. Next, enjoy a thrilling cycle rickshaw ride through the vibrant alleys of Chandni Chowk, past sacred temples, and old houses with fascinating architecture. Visit India's largest mosque, Jama Masjid, built by Shah Jahan in 1658. Later, visit Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi.
Afternoon: Drive to New Delhi, built by the British as a regal capital. Visit the Qutab Minar, the 234-feet-high sandstone Victory Tower built in 1193. Drive past India Gate, the 138-feet-high stone arch of triumph bearing the names of 90,000 Indian Army soldiers. Visit Humayun’s Tomb, a beautiful Mughal red sandstone structure. Drive through Lutyen’s New Delhi, including the Diplomatic enclave, various Victorian-era Government buildings, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, and the impressive Hindu Birla Temple. Finish your tour at Connaught Place, New Delhi’s main shopping, business, and tourist center.
Day 3: Delhi – Agra
Checkout from your hotel after breakfast and drive to Agra (about 4 hours) on North India’s newest highway. Arrive in Agra and check into your hotel.
Afternoon: Visit the massive red sandstone Agra Fort, built by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 AD, later converted into a palace by Shah Jahan. Visit Itmad-ud Daulah, built in 1628 by Nur Jahan in memory of her father.
Late afternoon: Visit the spectacular Taj Mahal at sunset, built by Shah Jahan for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, in 1653 AD. It took 22 years and 22,000 craftsmen to build. The white marble is inlaid with semi-precious stones in beautiful patterns in a process called pietra dura.
Day 4: Agra – Ranthambore
Check out of your hotel after breakfast and drive to Ranthambore. En route, stop to visit the Chand Baori stepwell at Abhaneri, one of the oldest, deepest, and largest stepwells in Rajasthan. Arrive in Ranthambore and check into your resort.
Day 5: Ranthambore
Enjoy wildlife safaris into the sanctuary early morning and late afternoon. The park covers 410 sq km and has a huge population of tigers, leopards, chital, nilgai, jackals, wild boars, hyenas, sloth bears, jungle cats, and a wide selection of birds.
Day 6: Ranthambore – Jaipur
Enjoy another wildlife safari in the morning. Check out of your hotel in the late morning and drive to Jaipur. Arrive in Jaipur and check into your hotel.
Day 7: Jaipur
Drive 7 miles north of Jaipur to visit the Amber Fort and Palace. Ascend to the main gate of the fort on an elephant (or jeep). The fort offers fascinating insights into the lifestyle of the Rajput rulers. Visit the City Palace Complex, the Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory, and the Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds.
Day 8: Jaipur – Mandawa
Check out of your hotel and drive to Mandawa. Arrive in Mandawa and check into your hotel. Enjoy a tour of Mandawa, famous for its havelis adorned with frescoes.
Day 9: Mandawa – Bikaner
Check out of your hotel and drive through Fatehpur and Nawalgarh, watching the 19th-century havelis. Continue to Bikaner, visiting the largest Camel breeding farm in Asia en route. Arrive in Bikaner and check into your hotel.
Day 10: Bikaner – Jaisalmer
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and visit the impressive Junagarh Fort. Visit the Ganga Golden Museum. Continue your journey to Jaisalmer, arriving in the evening and checking into your hotel.
Day 11: Jaisalmer
Begin your day by visiting Jaisalmer Fort. Visit Ganga Sagar Tank and the museum. Enjoy a camel safari on the sweeping sand dunes of Sam in the late afternoon.
Day 12: Jaisalmer – Jodhpur
Check out of your hotel and drive to Jodhpur. Arrive in Jodhpur and check into your hotel. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort and the Jaswant Thada cenotaph.
Day 13: Jodhpur – Udaipur
Check out of your hotel and drive to Udaipur, visiting the Ranakpur Jain temples en route. Arrive in Udaipur in the evening and check into your hotel.
Day 14: Udaipur
Visit the City Palace, Saheliyon-ki-Bari, and the local museum. Enjoy a sunset cruise on Lake Pichola.
Day 15: Udaipur – Delhi
Enjoy leisure time in the morning. Check out of your hotel by noon and drive to the airport for your mid-afternoon flight to Delhi. Our services end at Udaipur airport.
