8 Day Golden Triangle with Ranthambore
Highlights:
Day 1: Arrive in Delhi Welcome to India! Upon your arrival and after collecting your luggage, you will be greeted by our travel facilitator at the airport. You will then be taken in a chauffeur-driven vehicle to your hotel and assisted with your check-in. After you are settled, our travel facilitator will hand over your travel documents and briefly go over the next day’s program.
Day 2: Delhi Your exploration of India will commence in Old Delhi, the citadel of the Mughal Empire between the 17th and 19th centuries. You will visit the impressive Red Fort built in 1648, the seat of the Mughal Empire, with its imposing 1.24-mile-long red sandstone walls. Experience a thrilling cycle rickshaw ride through the vibrant alleys of Chandni Chowk, past sacred temples and old houses with fascinating architecture. Visit India's largest mosque, Jama Masjid, built by Shah Jahan in 1658, an architectural delight and a holy place. Next, visit Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi on the banks of the Yamuna River.
Afternoon: After the Old Delhi tour, you will be driven to New Delhi, built by the British as a regal capital. Visit Qutab Minar, the 234-feet high sandstone Victory Tower built in 1193. Drive past India Gate, a 138-feet high stone arch of triumph that bears the names of 90,000 Indian Army soldiers who laid down their lives in various wars. Visit Humayun’s Tomb, a beautiful Mughal red sandstone structure. Drive through Lutyen’s New Delhi, including the Diplomatic enclave, various spectacular Government buildings, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, and the impressive Hindu Birla Temple. Finish your tour at Connaught Place, New Delhi’s main shopping, business, and tourist center.
Day 3: Delhi – Agra Checkout from your hotel after breakfast and drive to Agra (about 4 hours) on North India’s newest highway. Arrive in Agra and check in to your hotel.
Afternoon: Visit the massive red sandstone Agra Fort built by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 AD. The fort has numerous courtyards, private chambers, and a marble mosque. Visit the exquisite Itmad-ud-Daulah built in 1628 by Nur Jahan in memory of her father.
Late Afternoon: Visit the Taj Mahal at sunset, the spectacular white marble mausoleum and one of the seven wonders of the world, built by Shah Jahan for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, in 1653 AD.
Day 4: Agra – Ranthambore Check out of your hotel after breakfast and drive to Ranthambore. Enroute, stop to visit the Chand Baori stepwell at Abhaneri. Arrive at Ranthambore and check in to your resort.
Day 5: Ranthambore Enjoy wildlife safaris into the sanctuary early morning and late afternoon. Ranthambore National Park is one of the finest tiger reserves in India and is home to a wide variety of wildlife and birds.
Day 6: Ranthambore – Jaipur Enjoy another wildlife safari in the morning. Check out of your hotel in the late morning and drive to Jaipur. Arrive in Jaipur and check in to your hotel. Jaipur is the vibrant capital of Rajasthan, also known as the 'Pink City'.
Day 7: Jaipur After breakfast, drive to the Amber Fort and Palace. Ascend to the fort on a caparisoned elephant (or by jeep). The fort offers a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the Rajput rulers.
Afternoon: Continue your tour of Jaipur city; visit the City Palace Complex, Jantar Mantar, and the Hawa Mahal.
Day 8: Jaipur – Delhi – International Flight Check out from the hotel after breakfast and enjoy the scenic drive to Delhi. Arrive in Delhi and board your international flight. Use the remaining few hours for some last-minute sightseeing or shopping based on your interests. Your vehicle and driver will stay with you until your assisted check-in at the airport.
